Content management system dp-XML

With dp-XML we established a platform that enables the use of a XML-based content management system for those customers, for whom it is uneconomical to purchase a CMS on their own.

We achieve this by using a content management system for different customers and tasks. Only the content management system is put to multiple uses - not contents or layouts. Due to modern access privileges and user permission management it is ensured that every user can only see and manipulate the data exclusively unlocked for him.

It is a matter of course that contents and layouts of the publications are individually fitted to every customers needs, so that CI-directives can be observed. Our dp-XML publications fulfill highest demands on user-friendliness and standards-compliance.

The application of a content management system for creating and maintaining technical documentation offers numerous advantages, e.g.:

  • media-neutral and system-independent data storage (XML)
  • no redundant data storage
  • different formats of publication from a single data source (print, internet, online support)
    • printed publications with a professional layout (PDF, MS Word, Adobe FrameMaker, Adobe InDesign)
    • HTML-based information systems with comfortable possibilities of browsing the internet, extranet, intranet and CD-ROMs (including full-text search)
    • online support systems (HTMLHelp, JavaHelp, EclipseHelp)
  • less error sources due to centralised layout management and XML
  • administrative functions for:
  • large data amounts
  • graphics, PDF and other binary data,
  • any desired amount of varieties and
  • any desired language
  • lower translation expenses due to integrated interfaces with Translation-Memory-Systems
  • time saving compilation of documents (e.g. automated by parts lists)
  • easy variety control and revision control of contents

By using dp-XML for your technical documentation, we open the full potential of modern documentation to you. Efficiency during the process of generation is, beside media-neutral data storage, provided by the modular structure and the automated production of different formats of publication. Due to the comfortable variety control and revision control of contents it is much easier and more cost efficient to create customised instructions for product varieties or defined target groups.

A process supported by a XML-based content management system is faster and more cost-effective in the medium term than a classical document-based editorial process.
